Lead materials handling engineering for Worley in Vancouver, BC, applying mechanical design expertise across mining, ports, and industrial projects. Manage complex scopes independently.
Worley seeks a Senior Material Handling Engineer and Project Manager for its Mechanical and Materials Handling Group. The position covers front-end studies, equipment selection, sizing, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination. Projects progress from concept through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering for conveyors, transfer systems, and bulk handling equipment
- Develop layouts, design criteria, calculations, and constructible solutions
- Review specifications, reports, datasheets, and engineering deliverables
- Coordinate mechanical, process, civil, structural, electrical, and controls disciplines
- Lead inspections, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational assessments
Requirements:
- 10+ years of mechanical and materials handling engineering experience
- Extensive bulk materials handling systems experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- British Columbia P.Eng. registration or EGBC eligibility
- Strong project management, communication, and client-facing skills
