Full Stack Developer

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer to join a leading retail organization. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable software applications that enable internal business capabilities and enhance guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end development, with hands‑on experience in Angular, Java/Spring Boot, and event‑driven architectures. This role will partner closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, and other Engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions while contributing throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and enhance full‑stack applications using Angular, TypeScript, Java, and Spring Boot
• Build responsive, accessible, and reusable user interfaces that provide a seamless user experience
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that support enterprise applications
• Contribute to event‑driven integrations and asynchronous processing using Kafka
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions
• Participate in solution design discussions and collaborate with senior engineers on technical implementation strategies
• Write clean, well‑tested code and contribute to automated testing efforts across front‑end and back‑end applications
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and QA teams to deliver new features and enhancements
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support CI/CD processes, deployments, release activities, and production troubleshooting efforts
• Utilize AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity while ensuring code quality, security, and maintainability standards are met
• Monitor application health and assist with performance optimization, logging, and observability initiatives
• Work effectively with both local and distributed engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions in a fast‑paced Agile environment

Skills and Requirements

4-7+ years of hands‑on software development experience building modern web applications and backend servicesStrong experience developing front‑end applications using Angular and TypeScriptExperience building and consuming RESTful APIs within distributed application environmentsProficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices‑based architecturesHands‑on experience working with Kafka or similar event‑driven messaging platformsExperience designing, developing, testing, and deploying full‑stack applications in an Agile environmentKnowledge of cloud‑native development practices with exposure to AWSExperience working with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization technologiesExperience writing automated unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testsUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines, source control, and modern software delivery practicesExperience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar coding assistantsRetail or eCommerce industry experienceExperience with Spring Cloud and distributed systems designExperience with Confluent Kafka and advanced event‑driven architecture patternsExposure to Snowflake or modern cloud data platformsExperience building applications that support high transaction volumes and production‑scale environmentsExperience implementing observability, monitoring, and logging solutionsExperience partnering with Product, UX/UI, and Architecture teamsFamiliarity with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Slack, and Microsoft 365Experience working with offshore or distributed development teamsExposure to AI‑assisted engineering practices within enterprise security and governance frameworks
