Build trusted sensor datasets with Python and SQL at Bells of Steel in Calgary, working hybrid Monday through Friday onsite regularly. Turn movement recordings into evidence for better coaching.
This junior specialist role supports Bells of Steel’s training app and wearable research program. You will collaborate with the founder, engineers, coaches, and full-stack developer. The work combines data wrangling, reproducible machine learning experiments, reference measurements, and careful validation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build Python and SQL tools for sensor recordings and workout logs
- Maintain traceable datasets with participant, exercise, equipment, and label details
- Run collection checklists and catch missing samples, timing errors, and bad labels
- Build documented baselines with separated-user and session evaluation
- Write error reports, limitations, and interfaces for the app team
Requirements:
- Practical Python, data wrangling, SQL, and Git experience
- Foundation in statistics, machine learning, validation, and overfitting
- At least one substantial project from work, research, school, or personal building
- Ability to explain what results do and do not show
- Experience with iOS and Android development
