About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Ingenium Developer to join our client’s dynamic team in Toronto. As an Ingenium Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining core systems for a direct insurance provider. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Ingenium development and experience working with complex insurance systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Ingenium-based applications to support core insurance operations such as policy management, claims processing, and underwriting
- Customize Ingenium solutions to meet the specific needs of the insurance business, including integrations with other internal and external systems
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other technical teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
- Implement and maintain API integrations for seamless data flow across systems
- Ensure compliance with insurance industry standards, regulations, and security best practices
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and support for Ingenium applications in production environments
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices, ensuring high-quality and efficient code
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in Ingenium development (version-specific experience is a plus) using a framework called Microfocus Enterprise Server.
- Proficiency in Java, SQL, and other programming languages commonly used in Ingenium
- Experience working with core insurance systems, including policy administration, claims, and underwriting systems
- Familiarity with insurance industry regulations, including compliance and security standards (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR)
- Strong understanding of system architecture, integrations, and APIs
- Experience working in Agile development teams and familiarity with DevOps practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Knowledge of other insurance-related technologies or platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Experience with cloud technologies and containerization (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of data privacy and security requirements specific to the insurance industry
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI in insurance applications is a plus
