JOB SUMMARY
SUNPAN is looking for an experienced Senior Copywriter to join our growing Marketing team. Reporting to the Digital Marketing & Communications Manager, the senior copywriter is a natural storyteller with a breezy writing style that touches a chord with readers and customers. You will work closely with the copywriter on the team and take ownership of category-specific product copy, and write captivating and persuasive marketing copy to engage our customers across online and offline mediums. To be successful in this role, you must be a versatile writer who can tailor content for different channels and audiences based on brand guidelines.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & OBJECTIVES
- Write and edit compelling and grammatically clean product copy by incorporating storytelling elements and key features and benefits to communicate the value of our designs to our customers.
- Adhere to the brand voice and tone across content tailored for different channels including website, email, printed materials, showrooms, and more.
- Work collaboratively within and across departments to produce factually accurate content that resonates with customers and readers.
- Actively contribute to SUNPAN Stories, the company’s design-oriented blog to narrate stories of the brand, people, and interior design.
- Deliver persuasive and attention-grabbing copy for headlines and page banners for the website, email, and trade materials.
- Attend and actively participate in in-person product and sample review meetings and perform, as required, additional research on materials, construction techniques, industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences.
- Perform periodic content audits to optimize copy for SEO and keywords.
- Collaborate with members from the marketing team to build and maintain an editorial calendar and contribute ideas to the overall content strategy.
- Assist with social media captions as necessary.
- Organize and manage content assets and guidelines in a user-friendly library and ensure product copy is up-to-date across all channels.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading skills with the ability to manage huge volume of content.
- 3+ years of experience in copywriting or content marketing. While not mandatory, experience or strong appreciation of furniture and interior design industry is an asset. Remember you will primarily be writing content about our trend-forward designs.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven with the ability to work under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback and incorporate best practices in your work.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Research-driven mindset who takes ownership of projects.
- Knowledge of SEO and social media content best practices.
- Post-secondary degree in Business or related, with preference for Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent.
