PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:The purpose of the Revenue Accounting & Reporting Specialist is to account for, analyze, and report on CPKC's revenues to ensure complete and accurate financial results for internal stakeholders and the investor community. They will work closely with other members of Finance, Sales and Marketing, and Investor Relations and will be responsible for the completion of accounting and/or reporting processes to reflect revenue generating activities. The role will also work to further develop reports to aid in the analysis of year-over-year performance trends and their impact on internal and external commentary. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Assist with the accounting, analysis, and forecasting of other freight and non-freight revenueEngage and support various business stakeholders in completing the accounting and reporting for revenues and related activitiesDevelop and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting that illustrates year-over-year demand, yield, and other key metricsReport weekly metrics on CPKC's external websitePrepare external financial disclosures within the quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis and Annual ReportMonitor data integrity to ensure consistent reportingAssist in identifying and implementing process improvements and data maintenance to achieve business objectives that could be technical in natureSignificant interaction with the business units to understand and articulate key drivers of change POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or related field3+ years financial accounting, analysis, and/or reporting experienceDesignated CPA or training towards a CPA designation is preferredDemonstrates capability to interpret a wide array of information and determine key messages to bridge the gap between analytics and business understandingStrong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft ExcelAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:Flexible and competitive benefits packageCompetitive company pension planEmployee Share Purchase PlanPerformance Incentive ProgramAnnual Fitness SubsidyPart-time Studies Program ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:As an employer with national presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.
