We invest in our employees, clients and partner relationships, as well as, in the technology and resources necessary to remain competitive, working in a competitive environment that inspires innovation.The OpportunityAs a member of the Fund Investment and Managed Solutions Team, you will assist in providing support to Hamilton Lane’s Canadian SMA clients, be responsible for Primary Fund Investment diligence, and support HL Canada initiatives.Your Responsibilities Will Be ToWork closely with senior FIMS Professionals to support Hamilton Lane’s existing SMA client base in Canada. Key portfolio/client responsibilities include:Assist in the development of Strategic PlanningModelling Portfolio Construction and Pacing scenariosAct as a conduit between our clients and broader Hamilton Lane organizationNavigate internal organizational dynamics, leveraging cross-functional approach to support our clientsLearn and maintain a working knowledge of HL technology tools to aggregate and present information needed for client deliverables including:Assist in the creation and reviewing of presentation materials for SMA clients and prospectsDevelop expertise in HL transaction offerings to support investment objectives for our clientsPresenting and meeting with HL SMA clients on a regular basis – both remote and in-personAct as key diligence person for Primary Fund investments. Key diligence responsibilities include:Serving as Deal Captain on Primary Fund investment diligenceManaging junior deal team membersCo-leading site visit meetings with prospective GPsMeeting/understanding Canadian GP landscape across Private Equity and Private CreditSupport growth of HL CanadaSupport senior Client Solutions professionals in Toronto office on SMA related business development efforts, including but not limited to: RFP responses, internal coordination, presentation development, meetings, etc.Managing dedicated junior FIMS professionalsMaintaining up-to-date record keeping of all sales oriented interactions in DealCloudYour Background Will IncludeBachelor’s Degree preferredFluent in English4+ years’ experience in financial services, with an emphasis on private marketsFamiliarity with Canadian institutional LP landscapeGood understanding of capital structures, different financial instruments and basic portfolio constructionStrong quantitative/analytical skills (data analysis, numerical skills, problem solving etc.)Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and receive feedbackDesire to work as part of a team with a strong focus on client needsExcellent communication and listening abilitiesOrganizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects effectively and on-timeAbility to exercise discretion and maintain confidentialityResourcefulness; ability to navigate ambiguityTravel Requirements10-25% travel requirementBenefitsHamilton Lane offers a competitive suite of benefits to support employees’ health, development, family, and financial wellbeing, including healthcare coverage, education and development programs, paid time off for volunteering, parental leave support, retirement programs, and an employee stock purchase plan.
