We are a very high-volume, fast-paced criminal defence firm looking for a licensed paralegal to assist in administrative procedures of the firm. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth running of client intake and basic initial case management. Experience in criminal law would be an asset, but is not mandatory.


Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to paralegals and lawyers (Scheduling, Emails, Correspondence with Clients and Courthouses, Disclosure Organization and Review)
  • Comfortable speaking in court and handling all aspects of a court appearance from detailed court instructions, communication with clients, calendar management, note taking, relaying important instructions and tasks to lawyers on file
  • Disclosure review and organization; general mail merge; drafting of court applications


Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Paralegal Program and/or relevant legal program
  • Experience working in a legal setting is an asset
  • Willingness to work in a high volume environment
  • Strong working initiative and being an active member of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in criminal defence or the criminal justice procedure
