Sr. Software Developer

This position requires the successful candidate to reside in Edmonton and work in the office 3 days a week.


Responsibilities:


Innovative Solutions:

  • Contribute to their cutting-edge SaaS solution.
  • You’ll play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining their industry-leading solution.


Monitoring Excellence:

  • Shape the technology behind their overall monitoring solution, providing valuable insights to their customers. Your work will directly impact effectiveness and performance.


Agile Collaboration:

  • Join their agile team, led by a dedicated Scrum Master. They prioritize efficiency and focus, choosing the best tools for the job. If you thrive on learning fast and delivering results, this is the place for you.


DevOps Excellence:

  • Full Software Lifecycle: Engage in the complete software development lifecycle.
  • Deployment and Operations: Ensure seamless deployment and operation of services.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in the team’s on-call rotation.
  • Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot incidents, implementing effective solutions with support from automated monitoring and incident managers.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation.


Agile Participation:

  • Sprint Planning: Actively contribute to sprint planning sessions.
  • Backlog Refinement: Collaborate on backlog refinement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous integration/delivery, static code analysis, and test automation.


Skills Development:

  • Work closely with Development Managers to create a personalized skills development plan.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Backend engineering experience
  • Java/Kotlin development
  • Big Data and Distributed Systems
  • RESTful Web Services
  • DevOps
  • Expert understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and analytics, and algorithms.
  • Expert understanding and experience of working with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, TSQL, DynamoDB, Redis as well as Protocol Buffers.
