ABOUT THE ROLE Hillsdale is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented (Senior) Investment Research Analyst to join our Private Client Investment Services team (PCIS). Reporting to the Head of PCIS, you'll leverage your analytical skills to generate insightful research, translate complex data into compelling narratives, and support our PCIS team in delivering exceptional client outcomes. We act as fiduciaries for our clients, conducting in- depth reviews of their unique investment goals and risk tolerance to develop and deliver highly personalized investment strategies. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Investment Research Conduct research and analysis on Hillsdale Funds, global financial markets and select stocks to provide actionable investment insights. Confidently present data-supported findings to influence investment decisions. Assist with custom research and hypothesis testing to support portfolio allocation and trades. Presentation & Communication Develop impactful, reader-friendly research material by leveraging design, automation, and other enhancements for internal and external deliverables, such as introductory pitch decks and pooled fund presentations. Upgrade existing distribution material and suggest new ways to communicate such as creating and distributing a monthly newsletter or market insights. Ensure all client-facing material is compliance-approved. Portfolio Management Support ~ Support the portfolio management team by assisting with financial planning services, building Quarterly Portfolio Reports, custom client reports, and other routine matters, as required. Competition & Product Analysis Research competition to assess Hillsdales competitive positioning, leveraging primary and secondary sources such as Morningstar and eVestment. Monitor the competitive landscape and analyze product offerings, fee structures, and client servicing. Update Hillsdale Funds' information on relevant websites and databases. WHAT WILL YOU BRING? Your qualifications include: Graduate or undergraduate degree with a focus on business, finance, statistics or engineering. Progress towards or completion of CFA designation/advanced business or financial analysis degree. Two (2) or more years of relevant portfolio analysis or investment research experience. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills, including exposure to quantitative factors. Ability to break down problems and analyze information to provide insights and recommendations based on the needs of the target audience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to synthesize complex analysis into coherent and concise presentations. Ability to work independently but also collaboratively with a variety of individuals at different levels and from different areas/functions. Flexible, self-starter who is confident and tactful, but understands when to seek advice and counsel; ability to work with ambiguity. Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrable passion for investing through self-guided reading, following the markets, and staying up to date on market developments and the macroeconomy. Nice to Have (preferred but not required) CSC or other similar industry credential. Experience in financial planning and familiarity with financial planning software like NaviPlan. Familiarity with research platforms such as Bloomberg. Basic programming skills (SQL / Python) for quantitative research. WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?
