Location: Bromont, Quebec; 4 days per week onsite; open to 1 day a week from home

Rate: $80/hr Inc.


Position Overview:

Our client has several related in-house developed applications that represent a real digital transformation for how they handle and interact with data. Our client has developed a great deal of advanced technology that needs and produces a great deal of data and requires a continuous improvement process in how that data is collected and distributed. As part of this program, a new cloud-based application is emerging from an initial concept to a POC stage and there is the need for a Technical PM to join the Architect and Product Owner for this application to prepare and then see it into full productization and through its lifecycle. As the applications of this program are related and exchange data via rest APIs as well as working together to support the transformation initiatives, this role will require working together with technical, product management, and business owner resources (possibly from other teams) to ensure that the product visions and development are aligned, and that duplication of effort is reduced or removed. The application this Technical Project Manager will be responsible for consists of a web front-end for mobile devices within our client’s shops, and a Java application back-end running in our client’s AWS environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operating in lockstep with product management teams to create a clear strategic direction for development needs and convey that vision to the build and/or operations team.
  • You will direct the team with a clear and descriptive set of requirements and partner with the team to determine what can be delivered by balancing the need for new features, defects, and technical debt.
  • Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders: Product Managers, Technical Anchors, Product Owners, and Developers.
  • Builds trust, mentors teams, and aligns responsibilities to achieve shared goals.
  • Navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and align solutions with organizational objectives.
  • Delivers tailored messages, resolves conflicts, and fosters cross-functional understanding.
  • Drives innovation, builds consensus and inspires action with clear rationale.
  • Provides expert counsel and explores impactful, forward-thinking solutions.
  • Collects feedback, manages scope changes, communicates progress, and tracks satisfaction against metrics.
  • Coordinates with teams on budget, scope, and timelines, ensuring financial reviews and risk/security management.
  • Maintains product roadmaps, prioritizes backlogs, and aligns features with customer needs and business goals.
  • Applies and mentors others in Agile methodology to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Navigates ambiguity, mentors systems thinking, and aligns teams through expert persuasion.

Must-Have Skills/Experience:

  • 1-5 years’ PM experience managing technical IT projects/programs
  • Ability to drive a team to execute a product owner’s vision and roadmap
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influence skills
  • Experience leading peer technical teams to complete projects to plan and on schedule
  • Experience managing (product) data risk and security
  • Working with development teams in Agile methodology

Nice to Have Skills/Experience:

  • Product Management experience
  • Experience in the following industries: aviation/aerospace, robotics, AI, heavy machinery, manufacturing
  • The role is not hands-on technical, but familiarity with as much of the tech stack an asset: Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, Containers, AWS, AWS DocumentDB
