The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the retail footwear store. This includes managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, achieving sales targets, maintaining inventory, and upholding store standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Staff Management:

· Assist in recruiting, training, and developing store staff.

· Supervise and motivate employees to perform at their best.

· Schedule staff shifts and manage time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage.

· Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.

· Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.

2. Customer Service:

  • Ensure the team delivers outstanding customer service.
  • Handle customer complaints and issues professionally.
  • Train staff on customer service best practices and product knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.

3. Sales and Financial Performance:

  • Assist in setting and achieving sales targets.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance and implement action plans for improvement.
  • Execute promotional campaigns and suggest marketing strategies to increase sales.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and manage store funds.

4. Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory levels and ensure stock is maintained at optimal levels.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and manage discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with the Store Manager and suppliers for stock replenishment.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and sales.

5. Visual Merchandising:

  • Ensure the store is visually appealing and adheres to brand standards.
  • Implement visual merchandising plans and promotional displays.
  • Monitor and adjust product placement to maximize sales.

6. Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain store security and safety standards.
  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures.
  • Prepare reports on sales, staff performance, and other operational metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of retail management experience, preferably in footwear.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and retail management software.
  • Attributes: Customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
