Articling Student - Criminal Law, Family Law, POA, Civil Litigation (English/Arabic)Rashidy and Associates is seeking an articulate, energetic, and well-rounded individual with a strong passion for litigation and advocacy to join our 2026 articling program.Our program aims to provide a comprehensive experience, blending hands-on litigation practice with real-life courtroom exposure as well as legal drafting, to prepare participants for the challenges of their first year as practicing lawyers.Qualifications:Conversational Arabic language at minimumMust be registered in the Lawyer Licensing Process and eligible for articling, in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society of Ontario.A desire to learn and problem solve.Ability to accept feedback and implement it going forward.A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, capable of meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong drafting skills as well as writing and researching.Excellent organizational skills.Excellent attention to detail.Exceptional client focus.Strong professional acumen.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite and excel.Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with tact and diplomacy.Interest and an open mind in various areas of law an asset.Previous legal experience an asset.Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assist with trial preparation, disclosure review, drafting pleadings, Charter applications, motions, and conducting legal research.Communicate and liaise with stakeholders in the criminal, Provincial Offences, Family and Civil litigation process, including clients, Crown attorneys, police, and other involved parties.Attend court (virtually or in-person) as needed which will include contested appearances.Support legal administrative tasks using the firm’s cloud-based practice management system.Responding to clients and maintaining positive client relationshipsResponding to opposing counsel in accordance with client instructionsPerform other duties as assigned.Application RequirementsTo be considered, applicants must submit:A resumé and cover letter.Law school transcripts.Undergraduate transcripts.A recent letter(s) of reference.A sample of legal writing in the area of criminal law.Position Details:Job Type: Full-time.Salary: $35,000 - $65,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with flexibility as required to meet professional obligations.Application Instructions:Please confirm your registration in the Lawyer Licensing Process and eligibility for articling by answering ‘Yes’ or ‘No.’Applications will only be considered if they include all required documents: 1) Resumé, 2) Cover letter, 3) Law school transcripts, 4) Undergraduate transcripts, 5) Recent letter(s) of reference, 6) Legal writing sample.Education:Bachelor’s Degree (required)Work Location:In-person most daysJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Paid time offEducation:LLM/JD (required)Language:Arabic (Important)Licence/Certification:Law Society approval for articling (required)Location:Mississauga, ON L4Z 3L3We thank all applicants.
