Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Family Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to clients in family law matters.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and maintain a high-volume case load
  • Draft and respond to correspondence
  • Prepare pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation, and trial briefs
  • Telephone and in-person contact with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
  • Prepare witness questions for evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Administrative practice management tasks including billing and reporting to clients

Qualifications

  • Must be admitted to Ontario Bar
  • 2-3+ Years Practicing Family Law
  • Empathetic, and level-headed demeanor to properly handle sensitive family law matters
  • Possess strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
  • Strong organization and teamwork skills
  • Ability multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in estate planning and/or real estate law would be an asset
