Engineering Manager

** This role is Non Hybrid , 5 Days per Week On-Site in the Vaughan, ON location **
Working directly with the VP, you will manage the engineering department which is responsible for product development, production development, and hands-on field support. This role is responsible for building the Engineering Department and Design Oversight of 3 Mechanical Design Engineers. Significant project management, deep knowledge of mechanical/hydraulic/(simple) control design and ability to support and train field personnel.
What will Make you Successful in this role?
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. You must posess a P.Eng designation
- 10+ years of Experience in Mechanical Engineering Design in Equipment Design, Consumer Product Design and varied industries.
- 3 Years Supervising and Managing of a small team of Mechanical Design Engineers.
- Project management background. PMP is Desired.
- Experience using SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM and setting up and organizing an Engineering Department.
- Willingness to be cross-trained within the organization.
- Ability to work 5 Days per week In Office at the Vaughan, ON location.
Responsibilities
- You will Manage all employees within the Engineering department and work directly with the VP Operations in building an Engineering Department.
- Managing all design reviews, providing design oversight, Troubleshooting FAT and Commissioning issues.
- You will also be a coach and grow the Engineering staff.
- You will use SolidWorks Best Practices and Project Management all Engineering projects within the scope of work.
- New Product Development, Utilization of DraftSight and be responsible for New Product Development.
