TITLE: Assistant Store ManagerREPORTS TO: Store ManagerOVERALL DUTIES:The Assistant Store Manager in partnership with the Store Manager is responsible for business development in line with the brand’s strategy, overall management of the store, staff, merchandise and customer service. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for achieving sales objectives, helping to build a highly motivated team and providing ongoing staff development and support.CORE Responsibilities:Customer ServiceStresses importance of building a local clientele and new client baseAssist associates with client service issues when neededOngoing reinforcement of all aspects related to clientlingStaff DevelopmentUses training as the tool to refine and enhance the knowledge expectations of the teamOngoing performance management to ensure sales and KPI goals are consistently being metDemonstrates leadership and leads by exampleMaintains a strong floor presenceDevelops, implements and executes strategic business plans for the storeInsures that the store environment that emulates the company DNAOperationsAssist in developing store as according to brand’s overall objectivesMaintains inventory control following the policies and procedures to protect assets and meet the shrink goalManages the P&L for the store, controlling expenses and gross margin to achieve financial objectivesEnsures sell-through and stock levels are maximized for sales growthStore VisualsEnforce merchandise standards as set forth by visual departmentMaintains and communicates strong product knowledgeConsistently upholds brand’s imageHuman ResourcesAssist the store manager with recruiting for staff opportunitiesSupervise store personnel, insuring all company policies and procedures are being followedCommunicates effectively with the store team, co-workers and NY officeCreate a positive store atmosphere that consistently motivates the teamAnd other duties assigned from time to timeREQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATIONBA a plusMinimum 3-5years of Retail Management experience; RTW luxury a plusProduct experience in luxury or high-end retail is strongly preferredStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAble to work independently as well as collaborativelyProficient computer skillsAbility to manage conflictMax Mara is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
