Reporting to the President, this is a broad generalist in-house position where you’ll be advising the business on a wide range of legal and compliance matters. A focus of this role will include working on Talon Metals’ public company reporting requirements and drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts. The role will also provide support on compliance and governance matters and deliver strategic advice on day-to-day legal matters. You will be embedded in the company as a true business partner, and you should be someone who enjoys and has experience working closely to support a business. You should be comfortable navigating a fast-paced business environment and capable of hitting the ground running with sound judgment and commercial awareness.ResponsibilitiesAdvise the business on a wide range of legal and compliance matters.Focus on Talon Metals’ public company reporting requirements; draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts.Provide support on compliance and governance matters and deliver strategic advice on day-to-day legal matters.Embed as a true business partner, working closely with the business to meet goals and deadlines.QualificationsCalled to the Bar and a member in good standing in a Province of Canada4 to 8 years of post-call experience in corporate/commercial law, from a law firm and/or in-housePreference for mining-related experience and/or public company reporting experienceEnthusiastic, hard-working, and confident at a senior level with other professional colleaguesTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines and objectivesAbility to advise management on risks across the business and strategies for mitigationGood judgment, integrity and attention to detailAbility to build positive working relationships with colleaguesCompensationHighly competitive base salaryExcellent health benefits and up to 50% RRSP matching per yearStock optionsPosition DetailsSeniority level: ExecutiveEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: LegalIndustries: Mining #J-18808-Ljbffr
