We are seeking an experienced Corporate Finance Lawyer to assist and advise corporate clients in their future endeavors. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of Canadian tax experience, particularly in tax structuring for venture capital-backed financing and M&A transactions.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide tax expertise on corporate finance and M&A transactions, working closely with corporate finance and M&A teams to integrate tax considerations into transaction structures. They will also advise on the tax implications of proposed transactions, conduct or oversee tax-related due diligence, and assist with tax disclosures.

In addition, the candidate will develop, assist with, and oversee the implementation of tax-driven restructuring plans, stay updated on tax laws and regulations, prepare and review tax documentation, and collaborate with other departments on tax-related matters.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of Canadian tax experience, particularly in tax structuring for venture capital-backed financing and M&A transactions
  • Knowledgeable of the corporate tax process
  • A team player and able to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Ability to build working relationships with third-party advisors and clients
