General Accountabilities Participate in Business and IT‑initiated projects; define and capture security requirements, and catalogue all security risks within the projects, including those created within proposed solutions. Support IT/OT Security Operations efforts. Participate in the ongoing development of Hydro One Security Policy, Procedures and Guidelines. Exhibit a strong client‑service orientation and a desire to help the business meet its objectives. Provide day‑to‑day review and analysis of the perimeter IT network to detect unauthorized access attempts, probes, pre‑attack information gathering, network mapping, and monitoring mail for unauthorized data extraction. Provide security architecture expertise to the projects. Review and recommend approval for proposed technology solutions and recommend sustainment adjustments as a result of remedial actions for risk reduction. Remain operationally current for all key and critical Hydro One IT/OT systems and networks, ensuring investigations are thorough and that potential root causes are explored without jeopardising ongoing operations. Support complex and technical IT/OT investigations, addressing queries related to recovery, authenticity and analysis of electronic data, including reconstruction of computer usage, examination of residual data and authentication of data by technical analysis. Support IT/OT security threat and risk assessments related to key and critical IT systems and networks for internal and external threats. Support IT/OT data and cyber‑security awareness programs through presentation and education. Review items posted to the corporate web page to determine if they present an overall security risk. Assist the Director of Business Information Technology in assessing IT/OT Security work programmes focused on preventing, detecting and responding to breaches and malicious behaviours targeting Hydro One’s IT/OT systems and networks. Selection Criteria Discipline: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security Academic Level: 2nd or 3rd‑year university student Computer Skills: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong organisational and communication skills. Essential Experience and Qualifications: Prior work experience in or familiarity with the utility industry. Understanding of Information Security principles and processes. Knowledge of the NERC CIP Standards or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Understanding of regulatory standards and auditing processes.
