Our client a global manufacturing company is looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join their team in Markham, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee key accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a pivotal role in managing month-end processes, cash flow forecasting, and supporting tax compliance activities.Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and compiling month-end reporting packages.- Monitor daily cash flow for Canadian and US bank accounts, oversee foreign exchange transactions, and ensure compliance with monthly loan reporting requirements.- Supervise and provide guidance to AR/AP staff, ensuring accuracy in working papers and schedules.- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts to support operational decision-making.- Complete monthly tax filings and payments in compliance with organizational requirements.- Assist with Canadian and US tax compliance, including preparing documentation for external tax consultants.- Support the annual budgeting process by preparing detailed site budgets.- Coordinate bank and annual audit activities, including preparing detailed working papers and conducting analysis.- Act as a backup for customer-related accounts receivable tasks and activities.- Identify opportunities for process improvements to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency.- CPA designated or finalist- Full cycle month-end accounting experience from a medium to large company is required- Working knowledge of US GAAP an asset- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel (including macros/v-lookups/pivot tables)- Working knowledge of Canadian commodity tax (HST)- Working knowledge of other Canadian taxes (e.g WSIB, withholding taxes, Customs duties and taxes)- Experience in AR/AP functions a strong asset- Proven strong analytical and financial modeling skills- Good oral and written communication skills- Willingness to learn, excellent time management and organizational skills; must have initiative and work under minimal supervision- Adaptable and able to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment- Must be able to put in extra efforts during month-end/year-end and other urgent deliverablesRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
