Insight Global is seeking a Data Analyst to join a top bank in downtown Toronto for a 6-month contract to support Finance and Securities. This individual will be helping with UAT testing and reporting. Advanced Excel skills and a strong data analytics and data mining background are required for this role. The Data Analyst also needs financial reporting and accounting knowledge. This role requires someone with a self-starter attitude, a quick learner, and someone curious. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, including creating and providing supporting documentation and tracking. Cross-collaboration with front-office teams, such as accountants, is vital to validate data for balance sheets and build new functionalities to support their day-to-day processes.

Must Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, including data mining, data extraction, validation, and testing.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial knowledge, such as understanding financial statements.
  • Reporting knowledge and the ability to perform data reconciliations.
  • Advanced skills with Excel (experience with pivot tables is required).
  • UAT Testing exposure
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Previous experience or knowledge within securities at a financial institution.
  • Experience with Macros and VBA in Excel is an asset.
  • Experience or knowledge of SQL and SAS.
