About:


Our client, a leading Engineering and Utilities firm, is seeking a Project Scheduler for the Eagle Mountain - Woodfibre Gas Pipeline Project. This venture aims to enhance the existing natural gas pipeline between Coquitlam and Woodfibre, near Squamish, by incorporating 50 kilometers of new gas pipeline. The expansion encompasses the construction of 47 kilometers of new 24-inch gas pipeline from north of Coquitlam to the Woodfibre LNG site, as well as an additional three kilometers of pipe near Westwood Plateau in north Coquitlam.


Reporting Line:

The Scheduler reports to the EGP Projects Controls Lead and oversees scheduling processes related to trends and project change notices across all Project Components, including Pipeline, Tunnel, Facilities, and Project-Wide elements.


Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate should possess knowledge and experience in:

Scheduling processes management.

Change control terminology, trend and change directions, statuses, reasons/categories, impacts, and funding methods/sources.

Change thresholds and approvals.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the scheduling process and execute project-specific scheduling procedures.
  • Develop and maintain the project change register, track and update trends and project change notices.
  • Prepare monthly analyses of trends and project change notices, along with bi-weekly and monthly change control reports.
  • Monitor and advance project change notices throughout the review and approval process.
  • Develop and maintain contingency, escalation, and management reserve drawdown reports.
  • Participate in project and component change-related meetings and discussions.
  • Support the Director of Project Services in monthly reconciliation of contingency drawdown and analysis of trends and project change notices.
  • Assist the EGP Project Controls Lead in developing management of change processes and procedures and implementing strategies to build a change control culture.
  • Aid Project and Construction Managers in identifying schedule-based changes and developing project change notices.
  • Collaborate with Component-specific Project Controls Leads in maintaining the project change register.
  • Update and maintain trend and project change notice attributes.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of contingency drawdown.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Scheduler or similar role, preferably within civil engineering or mining projects.
  • Financial Skills: Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in scheduling software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Project Knowledge: Familiarity with natural gas pipeline projects and relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in scheduling within relevant industries, demonstrating a solid understanding of scheduling principles and practices.
  • Must be able to work on the project site in Squamish, BC, two days a month (Every two weeks).
