Director of Software Engineering Position overview: As the Director of Software Engineering you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of digital solutions that support our colleagues and clients across Canada. Responsibilities: Build strong working relationships with business and IT management to understand business strategy and requirements, and identify and develop appropriate solutions that enable us to achieve its business objectives. Be an active member of the IT management team reporting to the CIO, supporting the team in addressing both strategic and tactical priorities. Demonstrate ability to select, configure and integrate off the shelf SaaS systems. Own the system architecture and engineering of digital initiatives at the firm. Establish industry best practice processes and infrastructure for the Software Engineering team, moving us toward a DevOps and Agile culture. Be hands‑on, able to review software design and architecture. Work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Data Science, and Project Management teams to build solution roadmaps and project plans. Attract, recruit, and develop engineering talent. Provide coaching and learning and create an environment where colleagues can develop the technical expertise needed for future business needs.
