We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Fleet Manager to join our Amsted Digital Solutions (ADS) team. ADS, a subsidiary of Amsted Rail, is a leading provider of a transportation management software solution and Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) onboard devices for unpowered transportation assets such as railcars, ISO tank containers, chassis, and dry goods trailers. Our customers (railroad operators, rail asset owners, and shippers) use our Supply Chain Visibility software platformsolutions to monitor and track their railcar shipments and fleet and gain operational insights in near-real time through our platform.
Position Details
The Amsted Digital platform comprises enterprise software services, analytics and alert engines, data integration, and web applications to deliver actionable information to our customers.
ADS is looking to expand its team of Fleet Manager resources in support of our Professional Services offering for our customer base. This role will leverage our software platform to perform daily tasks related to freight rail transportation, and when needed, our Technical Services team for shopping events and regulatory/requalification cycles of specific railcar assets.
Accountabilities & Expectations:
- Able to manage, monitor, and execute on various transactions and reporting related to railcar fleets
- Able to take charge in situations where action is required and when needed, leverage internal resources to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction
- Ability to report out on various statistics and information related to the assigned railcar fleets, and keep customers informed of updates and changes related to the fleet utilization and costs
- Understanding of the necessary railroad related transactions for scheduling and coordinating railcar movements
- Add or remove railcars from customer's fleets as they flex their rail supply chain requirements
- Familiarity with railcar repair and shopping events - review estimates, track cycle times, invoice matching, etc.
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in railcar fleet planning/management or similar role(s)
- Understanding of railroad related transactions and documentation used in the scheduling and movement of railcars
- Understanding of railcar repair shop planning and scheduling
- Experience with regulated commodities a plus
- Experience with mobile repair operations a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Office software applications
- Autonomy to help drive the development of our growing office on Prince Edward Island in a role that will impact our growth and how we work across all of our functions of Amsted Rail and with our sister Amsted divisions
