Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the acquisition of goods and services. for the Company’s properties in Ontario. Ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. This role will be based out of Ontario (Shorelines Casino Belleville, Shorelines Casino Peterborough, OR Shorelines Casino 1000 Islands)
Key Accountabilities:
- Sources and purchases goods and services; provides efficient, value-based recommendations to internal clients
- Consults catalogues and other references to obtain prices and specifications
- Consolidates purchases to leverage buying power
- Executes RFQs for select product categories.
- Places Purchase Orders (Blanket, Service and Product); tracks orders; liaises with vendors, couriers and customs brokers to maintain on-time delivery schedules.
- Sources and purchases FF&E for Planning & Development projects.
- Prepares purchasing reports on acquisitions, disposals, spoilage, non-received, back-ordered goods, etc. as directed.
- Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, add value and/or increase supply chain efficiencies.
- Responds to, resolves or escalates purchasing issues; liaises with Accounts Payable to resolve billing issues.
- Supports the quarterly and annual supplier business review process.
- Tracks and prepares reports on contract compliance and supplier performance; monitors supplier performance and escalates issues as required.
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees and vendors.
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Completes due diligence assessments for OLG and AGCO.
- Backing up and Supporting the Buyers at other sites.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Education and Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum 3years of purchasing experience; gaming and hospitality experience an asset.
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) an asset.
- Ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication.
- Computer literacy in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with JDE or a similar ERP required.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Able to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License.
- High School Diploma; Post Secondary education or suitable combination of education and experience an asset.
