Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will support the branch working along with both Strategic and Accommodation planners with various projects and initiatives. This work involves collaboration with external client contacts and internal stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Support in achieving the mandate of the ministry including long-term strategic planning alignment with principles of asset management with short and long-term accommodation strategies. Collaborate with Strategic Asset and Accommodation Planners, Asset Analytics, Realty Services, Property Management, and client ministries to determine and evaluate accommodation and strategic requirements. Development of space solutions and support implementation of accommodation projects in alignment with asset management principles. Prepare briefings, assisting in developing responses to inquiries including action request responses and correspondence pertaining to strategic and accommodation planning issues.  Interpret and clarify policies and processes in response to inquiries from client users. Promote collaboration with stakeholders and participate in communication plans. Conduct site visits of various facilities throughout the province. Prepare space inventory updates and various reports as required. Provide support and engagement with stakeholders and clients in support of strategic objectives for the various government policy implementation. Supporting and providing coordinated services relating to the allocation of GOA parking allocations for the efficient use of government-owned and leased parking in a cost-effective manner Participating in developing, implementing, and evaluating standards, guidelines, and strategies for the delivery of the parking program Performing research and analysis to draft lease renewal instructions (W5s) Supporting budget and business case development processes Engaging in client strategy and communication planning Supporting the Regional and Accommodation Planning Teams through administration of the Master Project List, the project document site, and project documentation, as well as data collection to support the reporting of Branch metrics

Qualifications

Required:

A related two-year diploma (e.g., Business, Urban / Regional Planning, Architecture, Interior Design), supplemented by at least two (2) years of related experience A valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent and access to a suitable vehicle Strong (verbal and written) communication and written presentation skills Excellent Microsoft Office and computer skills


Assets:

Demonstrated experience in planning or interior design Knowledge about parking accommodations


Equivalencies are:
A related university degree and no related experience; a related one-year certificate and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience; or a minimum of four (4) years of related experience.

This position is a permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (8:15 am – 4:30 pm).

Traveling will consist of less than 25% of the work schedule.

Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
