Introduction

The Department of Consumer Protection and Government Services is seeking 2 qualified individuals to fill the positions of Network Architect and Cloud Architect. Within the department, the Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) branch is the central agency with overall responsibility for Information Technology (IT) and Business Transformation strategy, policy and service delivery for the Government of Manitoba.

Conditions of Employment: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check. Qualifications: Essential: A Post-secondary degree in Network engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.  Extensive work experience as a Network Architect, Cloud Architect or a similar role. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software. Relevant work experience with network/cloud security and compliance practices. Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to different levels of the organization. Strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.  Desired: Professional Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud or similar.  Possess TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Certification will be considered an asset.  Understanding of routing and switching technologies. Duties: As a Network Architect will be a key player in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. The Network Architect role involves creating robust and scalable network solutions, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will develop network architecture strategies that align with business objectives and support the organization's technological growth.

As a Cloud Architect you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the organization's cloud infrastructure. Cloud Architects will be responsible for developing scalable and secure cloud solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the alignment of cloud architecture with business goals. Your expertise in cloud technologies will be essential in optimizing performance, reliability, and efficiency across our cloud-based systems.
