[What the role is]

Assistant Manager / Land Development (Demolition & Reinstatement)

9-month contract

[What you will be working on]

  • Oversee the pre and post tender preparation works for appointment of consultants and contractors for demolition and reinstatement works and/or restoration works, or any other assigned project works, including conducting tender briefing/site show round, address tenderers’ queries, tender evaluation and seeking approval for recommendation of award.

  • Carry out project management of projects involving demolition and reinstatement works and/or restoration works, or any other assigned project works, including oversee consultants’ and contractor’s works progress and operations.

  • Manage and consult regulatory authorities, utilities service providers and liaison with relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop and evaluate options including time management for the project and proposed the allocation of resources.

  • Identify potential risks, root causes and develop improvement plans on site.

  • Review and ensure contractors fulfil contractual obligations, and justify submitted contract variations.

  • Responsible for the budgetary projection, actual expenditure, verification and processing payment for progress claims, and final account.

  • Ensure project is kept on schedule including supervision of work progress on site, resolve ground issues with contractors and relevant stakeholders, conduct progress meeting, facilitate handing over of sites to relevant parties after completion of works and managing defects liability period.

  • Conduct regular meetings and inspections at site with site staff, contractors and also stakeholders.

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports, slides, spreadsheet presentation for management update on the project progress, challenges, cash flow utilisation, etc.

  • Ensuring the record of daily sites activities are documented and kept in order.

  • Carry out any other assigned projects, assignments etc.

[What we are looking for]

  • Background in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building, Quantity Surveying.

  • Possession of a Class 3 driving license would be preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in problem solving and adaptability for dynamic site works.

  • Experience in dynamic site works (including earthworks) or project management.

  • Good written and verbal communications skills in English.

  • Meticulous, performance-driven and able to work independently and multi-tasking in a large scale site.

  • Experience in the project management or part of a project team managing civil engineering, demolition and/or earthworks.
