In this role, your primary goal will be to educate, restore, maintain, and support the recovery of youth, enhancing their quality of life and empowering informed decision-making. You will create an environment that fosters growth and development, providing opportunities for community access, meaningful activities, inclusive culture awareness and support within the PCBC.

As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for designing and delivering programs for youth in residence, offering recreational advice and guidance to both staff and youth at the centre. If you’re ready to make a positive impact, we’d love to hear from you

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Develop and implement weekly or monthly recreation programs for youth participation. Provide ongoing education to Provincial Campus Based Care (PCBC) staff—both wage, permanent, and leadership—on current available activities. Contribute to policy development and implementation while ensuring the coordination of services. Collaborate with community partners to offer youth opportunities for recreational activities. Create and monitor individual plans for youth, including completing their assessment intake.

Prepare reports, assessments, and other administrative tasks related to youth recreation activities on a weekly and monthly basis, and attend meetings with supervisors, CYC staff, and other clinical team members to discuss concerns or provide feedback.
