Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Caretaker Supervisor, the Caretaker Foreman is responsible for on-going cleaning of the Queen Elizabeth II Building to ensure asset value is maintained, and to support normal operation of client department functional programs.

This Caretaker Foreman position functions within a demanding, time and quality sensitive framework. Developing and maintaining positive client relations with Legislative Assembly Office, Finance and Executive Council is a key requirement.

The primary responsibilities for the Caretaker Foreman include but are not limited to:

Providing effective supervision to assign, review, coordinate and inspect in-house caretaking activities Providing responsive customers service and maintain excellent client relationships Supervising and performing caretaking services for designated areas of responsibility to ensure safe, effective, and efficient facility maintenance and operations, preserve property value and meet client needs Developing and maintaining positive client relations by being responsive to client needs to ensure a high level of client satisfaction Providing and/or utilizing personal protective equipment as recommended by equipment or material manufacturers Assisting with set-up for ongoing functions within the Queen Elizabeth II Building

The successful candidate will have:

Strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal The ability to utilize a computer including word processing, email, and web browser experience A good understanding of industry-related safety procedures and WHMIS regulations The ability to assist with set-up of various ongoing functions and events

Qualifications

Required:

Some high school education Two years previous experience in a supervisory custodial position, or equivalent


Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or  1 year of experience for 1 year of education


Assets:

Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.

Notes

Hours of work: 7.25 hours daily / 36.25 hours per week
