Within the Ministry of Children’s Services there are four Campus Based Treatment Centres that provide 24-7 campus-based care to adolescents with significant trauma-related issues. Programs include both Intensive Treatment and Secure Services in the following facilities:

Role Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity to enhance your skills and experience working with youth who face a variety of significant emotional and behavioral challenges due to concerns of trauma, adverse childhood experiences, mental health, addictions and/or developmental disabilities.



To be successful in this position, you must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, treatment and trauma-informed practice, ability to apply theoretical knowledge of child and youth care practices, observation skills, supervision, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to complex and ever-changing environments.



Working collaboratively as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, where no two days are the same, you will be responsible for:

Participating in all aspects of individual therapeutic treatment planning. Monitoring and recording behaviors and outcome progress. Overseeing and arranging daily treatment plan activities; and Supporting youth to be successful/working towards well-being.

Qualifications

Requirements :

Related Diploma or Degree; no experience required

 
Related Education (either Diploma or Degree) :

Human Service Worker, Social Work, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Correctional or Police Services, Psychology, Sociology, and Education. Note: There are no equivalencies for Child and Youth care Worker 1. Candidates must possess, at minimum, a diploma in one of the previously listed educational areas.

Assets :

A high cultural competency in Indigenous experience Child and Youth Care Degree or Diploma Related experience in therapeutic campus-based care setting, working with indigenous populations, working in youth homes, teacher, educational assistant, crisis intervention, family counselling, youth counselling, youth correction work, childcare program development (Teacher, Educational Assistant, Psychologist) and behavioral therapy. Current Certification in First Aid with CPR and Suicide Intervention
