About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our Parkstone Enhanced Care team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Loading trucks with distribution carts for various sites in an efficient manner.
  • Documenting and cross-checking each load to ensure all destination serveries are accounted for.
  • Operating vehicles with due care to ensure timely, safe, and consistent delivery.
  • Packing green boxes appropriately before loading onto trucks.
  • Portering carts from trucks to each site's receiver kitchen walk-in refrigerator/freezer and storing them in an orderly manner.
  • Collecting soiled carts for return to production kitchen and compiling requisition forms and QA forms as directed.
  • Maintaining trucks in peak operating condition and carrying out routine maintenance functions.
  • Ensuring trucks and receiving areas are clean, tidy, and sanitary.
  • Taking reasonable precautions to protect own health and safety and the health and safety of other persons at or near the workplace.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A minimum of Grade 12 education.
  • Food Safety Training or equivalent.
  • A Class 5 drivers license with Air Brakes.
  • A clear driving abstract.
  • The ability to competently operate a 5-ton truck.
  • The ability to carry out routine maintenance and general upkeep for a 5-ton truck.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
