About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Analyst to join our team at Definity Financial. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the valuation, month-end booking, and reporting of policy liabilities, as well as analyzing claims experience and providing input to other departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Valuation and Reporting: Compile and categorize data from spreadsheets, databases, and statistical software to support the valuation and reporting of policy liabilities.
  • Claims Experience Analysis: Analyze claims experience data to identify trends and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Produce various data exhibits and analyses to measure, track, and monitor company and industry performance.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate actuarial concepts and make recommendations to management both verbally and in writing, with supporting documentation.
  • Peer Review: Independently review the technical and qualitative analysis of peers and junior staff.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics, with completion of 4-6 exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in reserving, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Skills: Strong programming skills, including knowledge of SAS and efficient use of Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, VBA, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure.
