We are currently seeking a Transportation Coordinator to join our team in Longueuil


This position is responsible for dispatching various loads, including line haul and drop shipments, as well as communicating with drivers, customers, distribution centers, plants and external suppliers.

You will work with over 20 carriers and independent contractors, transporting both in-house and carrier-owned goods. This position reports to the Transportation Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of the movements of finished goods and materials between plants, DC's, depots, and 3PLs. Areas of service include (but are not limited to), Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia & Newfoundland.
  • Prompt dispatch and monitoring of drivers; proactively addressing and communicating to key stakeholders any issue affecting deliveries.
  • Update various files and systems including TMS (E2Open), ELM
  • Generating transportation documents & distributing to respective transport drivers
  • Address & resolve trailer mechanical issues as needed
  • Assist with the compliancy of trailer preventative maintenance (PM) and annual safety programs.
  • Flag and resolve GPS trailer issues as needed
  • Completion of daily asset yard checks at respective location
Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in logistics coordination and dispatching, in a fast-paced transportation environment
  • Bilingual – fluent in both French & English
  • Hands-on experience with Transportation Management System (asset)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Punctuality and flexible to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends and weekdays.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency (Word, Outlook, & Excel)
