The Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in our team, working closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized therapeutic plans for patients, utilizing patient information and clinical expertise.
- Providing education and training to healthcare professionals, patients, and families on medication management and safe use.
- Preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement discharge plans, medication calendars, and other patient care strategies.
- Providing patient counseling and support, addressing questions and concerns, and promoting patient understanding of their treatment plans.
- Assisting with the provision of non-BCCA benefit medications, exploring options for compassionate release programs and financial support.
- Supervising and mentoring pharmacy students and residents, promoting their growth and development as healthcare professionals.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, current registration as a Licensed Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
- Completion of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program.
- One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Knowledge and competency in aseptic techniques, biological safety cabinets, and safe handling of cytotoxic drugs.
- Ability to organize work, work independently, and establish effective working relationships with others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, with the ability to operate related equipment.
