About the RoleUnder the general supervision of the Drug Distribution Manager, the Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for:
- Procuring, storing, and managing inventory of pharmaceuticals
- Preparing, dispensing, packaging, labeling, pricing, and issuing pharmaceuticals
- Recording and maintaining accurate records of pharmaceuticals
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in hospital pharmacy practice
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
- Basic keyboard skills
- Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, word processing, and email and internet software
- Ability to pass and maintain the departmental verification validation
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
