Assistant Professor in Biochemistry Position at the University of Guelph

The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Guelph seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Biochemistry with expertise in enzymology, structural biology, biophysics, or other relevant fields.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven record of research excellence, demonstrated potential to establish a competitive independent research program, and secure external research funding.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish an innovative and sustainable research program that complements the department's strengths
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate students in the discipline of biochemistry
  • Mentor students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary research-intensive department with 40 faculty members studying diverse biological systems.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field
  • Minimum of three years of relevant postdoctoral experience
  • Demonstrated research excellence and potential to secure external research funding
  • Effective teaching and mentoring skills
