Join our team as a Security Guard at Welland Hospital and contribute to a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

About the Job

This is a full-time position that requires a valid Ontario Security Guard License and proficiency in English. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents, as well as performing a variety of preventative and reactive duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide security patrols and response to incidents on assigned shifts
  • Display excellent customer service skills and work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance
  • Perform interior and exterior patrols within the hospital and surrounding areas
  • Provide Use of Force/Restraint as required and directed under the Mental Health Act
  • Provide security escort service to staff and visitors as requested
  • Accountable for keeping accurate logs and notebook entries of all shift activity and calls for service
  • Investigate and follow-up of incidents, report writing, door opening requests, CCTV camera reviews
  • Responsible for all office duties (i.e. ID badges, key distribution, lost and found etc.)
Requirements
  • A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  • Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services would be an asset
  • Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
