Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is a Long Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs approx. 240 staff in various Departments.

Job Summary:

  • Provide high-quality patient care as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a geriatric setting.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care to residents.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of residents' physical and emotional needs.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed records of resident care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Nursing from an accredited School/College of nursing.
  • Current license with the CLPNS (College of License Practical Nurses of NS).
  • Minimum of 1-year experience with Medication Administration.
  • Recent experience in geriatric setting preferred.
  • Recent experience as Team Lead or Supervisor of CCA staff/equivalent preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required with annual updates and annual WHMIS required.

Working Conditions:

  • Rotational hours, including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Shift hours: 7am - 7pm and/or 7pm - 7am.
