Accounts Payable Specialist

Egg Farmers of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing Accounts Payable activities and reporting to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Accounts Payable Operations: Process payments to suppliers, administer expense claims, and disbursements related to programs funded by the Administration Funds.
- Accrual System Management: Oversee and maintain the accrual system for purchase orders.
- Invoice Processing: Process and balance invoices with purchase orders, expense claims, release and balance cheques, and process batch reports and purchase journals.
- Accounts Payable Administration: Maintain accounts payable journals, registers, and void cheques file and update the accounts payable system.
- Customer Service: Respond to accounts payable inquiries.
- Cost Recovery: Identify cost recovery items and notify the Financial Analyst to initiate invoicing process to outside agencies for reimbursement.
- Backup Support: Act as a back-up for Accounts Payable Coordinator (Pooled Income Funds) and Financial Analyst during their absence.
- Analysis and Reporting: Assist with requests for analysis of information, annual audit, and other ad-hoc assignments.
- Filing and Organization: Responsible for general filing of invoices and other relevant accounts payable information.
- Education: Minimum 1 year post-secondary training in accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 1-3 years experience in an accounts payable role with similar responsibilities.
- Skills: Understanding of general accounting principles, knowledge of standardized work methods, tools, processes, and approaches related to accounts payable, ability to read and understand financial documents, ability to use various software applications, writing skills, and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
