We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team at NL Health Services - Labrador-Grenfell Zone. As an Advanced Care Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing independent advanced medical care and intervention to patients in pre-hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments, physical examinations, and advanced treatments for medical and traumatic conditions.
- Apply advanced treatment therapies and interventions for medical disorders and traumatic injuries, in accordance with protocols.
- Function as part of an interdisciplinary team within healthcare facility units, such as emergency and critical care areas.
- Complete patient treatment charting and records all pertinent patient information.
- Provide leadership and scene management during mass casualty incidents.
- Assume patient care management during inter-facility transports for critically ill or unstable patients.
- Precept and mentor Advanced and Primary Care Paramedic students during field placements.
- Maintain, clean, and conduct duty checks of ambulances, equipment, and supplies.
- Recognize cultural diversity and provide on-the-job advice and guidance to staff and students.
- Graduation from an approved Advanced Care Paramedic program accredited by the Canadian Medical Association.
- Current registration with the NL Paramedicine Regulation and Office of the Provincial Medical Director as an ACP.
- Possession of a valid Class 4 Driver's License as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Current certification in PALS, or willingness to complete.
- 40 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Critical and sound decision-making skills.
- Confidence to manage a variety of situations.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to perform various medical procedures and operate a variety of medical equipment.
Competitive salary range of $35.42 to $39.58 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.
