ABO Wind is a globally successful renewable energy developer that was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany. Out of its office locations in 16 countries worldwide, ABO Wind has developed over 5 GW of wind, solar, battery, biogas, and green hydrogen projects. In addition to development and construction, ABO Wind has long-term operations and maintenance agreements with over 2.5 GW of renewable energy projects. ABO Wind Canada was founded in 2017, with offices in Calgary, Halifax and St. John's.

The Canadian team is seeking a post-secondary student to join us as a Junior Project Developer for our Atlantic Canada Office based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development team in the acquisition of land, development services, engineering, and permitting of renewable energy projects in Atlantic Canada
  • Coordinate closely with the development team and internal resources such as site assessment, wind measurement, civil, electrical, and finance on development tasks
  • Support the collection, organization, writing and filing of project data, documentation and reports including minutes and stakeholder communications
  • Complete internal research projects on relevant subjects as needed (eg. new markets, regulatory frameworks, etc.)
  • Support development and communications team in consultation and engagement tasks including open houses and outreach
  • Support team in general office or administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

  • A recent graduate or currently studying in a program related to sustainable energy, planning, or engineering or other relevant education or experience.
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to accurately record and prepare technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
  • Enthusiastic about the future of renewable energies and dedicated to pursuing a career in sustainable energy.
  • Experience or knowledge in renewable energy, or project management is an asset.
  • Experience working with local First Nations and Indigenous communities an asset.
  • English required, German or French an asset.
  • Ability to perform interdisciplinary work and work well with a team.
