The Senior Project Manager selected will report to SAP MP PMO Director of Engagement and Program Management (the Director). This role will be responsible for delivering services as herein defined.

The senior project manager ideally would have a minimum of 10 years' project management experience, including experience with complex enterprise-scale programs in both the public and private sectors.

The senior project manager will work closely with the Leads of all the Project Teams and business stakeholder groups to coordinate all aspects of operational readiness.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

In support of this Project, the overall responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Technical Cutover Lead, plan and coordinate cutover and operational readiness with primary focus on business preparedness.
  • Support various stakeholder groups to identify operational readiness priorities, coordinate resolution of related issues and lead operational readiness planning (such groups may include Functional Change Network, Change Leadership Network and Business Advisory Council).
  • Liaise with Service and Sustainment Team to ensure an effective support model is in place for the new solution at Go Live.
  • Coordinate across all Program teams on operational readiness topics.
  • Ensure all required operational readiness deliverables are produced (e.g., readiness work plan, status reports, risk and issue reporting).
  • Identify, monitor and manage project issues and risks related to operational readiness and escalate as necessary.
  • Ensure deliverables are produced, approved, and accepted in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Support, guide, coach and assist team members as required.
Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience managing complex projects/programs including the following: developing project strategies, program planning, and critical path management.
  • Substantial experience with cutover and operational readiness activities.
  • Extensive experience with stakeholder management and high-level competency in relationship management.
  • Experience working in partnership with a systems integrator.
  • Excellent facilitation and coordination skills. The Consultant must be comfortable working in a liaison role.
  • Understanding of how business operational management priorities interact with project commitments, demonstrated by experience supporting/liaising with senior business leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Organization change management experience is an asset.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP solutions is an asset.
  • Prior experience with the Province of Nova Scotia would be valuable.
  • Experience in managing projects/programs with a public sector organization is an asset.
