Fitness Instructor

(Permanent Part-Time - Certified Instructors II)

The City of Campbell River is seeking an experienced and passionate Certified Fitness Instructor to join our Recreation & Culture team, in this permanent part-time position of 14 hours per week.

The role – As a Fitness Instructor, you will design, lead, instruct, and monitor participants in a variety of exercise classes, strength training, and fitness programs.

Required qualifications:
Possess valid certifications in each of the following areas:

Fitness Theory or equivalent certificationFitness to Music or equivalent certificationWeight Training
Plus certification in one of the following:Third Age FitnessPersonal TrainingSpinYogaZumba orOther fitness specialty
Note: The above certifications must meet or exceed the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA), Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) or Canadian Fitness Professionals (CanFitPro) standards.Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR certifications.One (1) year experience in instructing and/or leading in a group fitness or weight room setting.The successful candidate will be required to provide a clear RCMP Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check.
