Who we are looking for

The AVP, Capital, and Recovery Planning will assume an important role in the State Street Canada Finance team primarily through their lead role in supporting SSTCC's Capital Adequacy and Regulatory Reporting requirements, inclusive of the implementation and governance of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process ("ICAAP") for State Street Trust Company Canada ("SSTCC") and Recovery and Resolution Planning ("RRP") requirements across Canada. This role reports into the VP, Controller who oversees all regulatory-related processes, reporting, and policies.

You will work closely with department heads across Canada, including but not limited to Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Business, Operation, IT, HR, Corporate Audit, and Global Capital Management, and therefore must be comfortable with presenting to and challenging senior management across the organization, whilst acting as a decision maker at key infliction points.

Therefore, you must be a self-starter with the ability to carry out a large-scale program end-to-end, ensuring that key milestones are met.

You will be responsible for providing monthly capital and liquidity analysis, and will provide support to the VP, Controller Finance, and CFO who oversee Capital Adequacy when assessing the capital impact on new business and product initiatives, as well as performing stress testing on various scenarios to evaluate and assess the financial impacts on SSTCC's capital and liquidity adequacy.

Further, this role will support the VP, Controller Finance, and CFO on broader projects within finance and assist in effectively managing key deliverables.

Successful candidates must be self-motivated and results-oriented. A solid understanding of the subject matter for the open position is required. Candidates must be capable of working with a wide variety of departments and senior management across the organization and be able to multitask while adhering to strict reporting deadlines. You should have a regulatory background, typically acquired through related experience in the financial services industry. The position requires excellent analytical skills, coupled with strong communication, written, and time management skills.

As a key member of the Finance team, you will be comfortable interfacing and presenting to senior and executive management both within finance, and the line of business, communicating regulatory reporting matters to non-technical leaders in a clear and compelling manner. The position is a key hire as State Street Canada Finance continues to strengthen its capital adequacy and other regulatory reporting and assessment capabilities.
