About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Franchise Business Development Specialist to join our Commercial Banking team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with franchise business owners, identifying new business opportunities, and providing expert advice on financial solutions to support their growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a business plan to acquire and grow a portfolio of high-value franchise business relationships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with franchise business owners, Centres of Influence (COIs), and other stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice on financial solutions, including business banking products and services, to support franchise business growth
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships and collaborations with other business lines and partners
  • Work closely with the Credit Adjudication and EO Franchising team to process deals and ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of business strategies and initiatives to support franchise business growth and development
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business law, or economics, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in the field of franchising, including education or working experience
  • Expert knowledge of the franchise business segment, including market trends, financial performance, and business structures
  • Strong business development and relationship-building skills, with a proven track record of success
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of applicable software and technology platforms for Business Banking, including ACE and GRM
  • Knowledge of applicable risk management policies and processes
Working Conditions

This is a 100% business development role, requiring frequent travel to meet with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will have a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
