About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snowmaker to join our team at Conservation Halton. As a Snowmaker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and quantity of snow on our ski slopes.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain snowmaking equipment to produce high-quality snow
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Document and report any mechanical or safety issues
- Maintain safety barriers and padding around snowmaking equipment
- Ensure ski slopes and surrounding areas are clear of snow and sanded
- Operate specialized seasonal maintenance equipment, such as plow trucks and tractors
- Collaborate with other departments, including Grooming, Ski Patrol, and Lift Operations
- Work in accordance with Conservation Halton's Safety Policies and Procedures
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnights, and holidays
- Ability to work in a variety of conditions, including adverse weather
- Previous experience operating equipment or related experience is an asset
- Ability to do basic system troubleshooting and knowledge of high-pressure vessel safety
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Valid Ontario Driver's License and satisfactory Driver's Abstract
- CSA-approved safety footwear and safety helmet required
- First Aid and CPR certifications are considered an asset
