Process Safety Engineering Co-op Student Opportunity

West Fraser is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Safety Engineering Co-op Student to join our team in Quesnel, BC. As a Process Safety Engineering Co-op Student, you will assist the process safety project manager with updating thermal oil P&IDs for BC and Alberta sawmills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update thermal oil P&IDs for BC and Alberta sawmills
  • Visit WF mills to trace the thermal oil system and update P&IDs using AutoCAD
  • Work with the mill's head electrician to update the thermal oil alarms and interlocks spreadsheet
  • Gain hands-on learning experience at major industrial sites
  • Develop essential P&ID design and AutoCAD knowledge
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • 3rd year in bachelor's in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel to various sawmill locations in BC and Alberta
  • Good communication skills for working with different teams
