About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Secretary to provide administrative support to our Nurse Practitioners at the Children's & Women's Health Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule patient appointments, coordinate meetings, and arrange travel for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support, including data entry, typing, and filing.
  • Communication: Respond to telephone enquiries, communicate with other staff, and provide information to patients and families.
  • Organizational Skills: Establish and maintain filing systems, coordinate workflow, and prioritize tasks.
  • Receptionist Duties: Receive visitors, answer the telephone, and direct calls to the appropriate area.
  • Mail and Courier Services: Process incoming and outgoing mail, arrange for courier pick-up and delivery.

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12, graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription.
  • Experience: Three years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Skills: Ability to keyboard at 60 w.p.m., communicate effectively verbally and in writing, deal with others effectively, organize work, and operate related equipment.
