Security Guard Position at HMCS Discovery in Stanley Park

Commissionaires BC is seeking a security guard with a passion for customer service to work at HMCS Discovery in Stanley Park.

Responsibilities:

  • Control access to site
  • Conduct security and fire patrols during silent hours
  • Report any unauthorized activities to Site Supervisor and Facility Manager
  • Report all noteworthy incidents to Facility Manager, Site Supervisor and Commissionaires Management
  • Answer the main gate's telephone
  • Check voice mails and emails
  • Secure gate when guard house is not manned
  • Maintain control of keys and ensure key log book is completed correctly
  • Conduct basic public relations and deal with questions from members of public

Requirements:

  • Valid BC Security Licence
  • Been resident in Canada for a minimum of 5 years for clearance eligibility
  • OFA 1 Certificate

  • Physically able to perform assigned duties, including the ability to conduct extensive foot patrols
  • Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills
